Rebecca Kimport -- Teacher At Sea

These are the voyages of Rebecca Kimport -- Teacher at Sea -- on the NOAA fisheries ship the Oscar Dyson. Its continuing mission: to study and monitor Alaskan pollock; to seek out new aggregations in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska and to boldly go where it went before to monitor changes in weather, sea state and wildlife populations.

About Me

Ms. Kimport: I am a high school chemistry teacher at Capital City Public Charter School in Washington, DC. I love science and I love the ocean so when I heard about the program, I knew it would be a great fit. I am honored to be one of the 35 teachers chosen to go to sea this year.
